Here are some press quotes about my/our current music.
‘Dylan-esque angst ridden lyrics and raw brash style, oozing charisma, originality and style’
BBC N.Yorkshire
‘Heavily influenced by the likes of Hank Williams, Lightnin’ Hopkins, Townes Van Zandt, Gillian Welch, The Band, The Rolling Stones and many others The Wayfaring Strangers are no fakers, they are the real deal, and they will rip your heart out and toss it back to you many songs later doused in song soul and whiskey.’
Northern Music
‘Two High and Lonesome Troubadours singing hell bent songs of love, liquor, death and good times. Steeped in tradition and as real as the day is long.’
The little Num Num Club hosted by Chris Helme
‘No strings attached, rides the rhythm to excruciating heights and can calm a room with a soulful tune.”’
‘Tom Waits singing Ryan Adams if they’d both had the good fortune of growing up in Yorkshire’
Fibbers Barfly
‘The Wayfaring Strangers have been playing roots music / americana / folk / country / blues / rock and roll / whatever for as long as I known 'em, and they've never jumped a bang wagon in their lives. gen-u-ine, real-deal, authentic roots-rock sung in a voice that makes Louie Armstrong's sound kinda girly. I saw The Wayfaring Strangers play a couple of weeks back (Mark on distorto-fuzz blues geetar, GT with acoustic and barrel fulla new songs) and they sounded like Crazy Horse. That's basically all you need to know. If they come to your town, go see 'em.’
'...latest dispatch from The Boss Caine Sessions has blown my mind, best album Tom Waits, Captain Beefheart, Ry Cooder, The Stones, Gram Parsons & Johnny Cash ever didn't make...a little 'Unplugged'- era Nirvana too...this is a good thing...post punk-post-grunge-country rhythm & blues...'
Paul Fuzz Writer and DJ
“Mr Turbo's gruffly laid-back drawl together with their effortless cool really brings out their uniqueness and individuality”

I did indeed work with The D to the T. You know how you hear stories of people meeting their legends and they are absolute cunts and completely shatter the illusion. We'll not true with Danny Thompson. He is a proper Legend and a fucking amazing bassist.
Well up for doing the EP and mixing the stuff... and doing some stuff with the Wayfaring Strangers. I'm loving that stuff. Did you know there was a German folk due with the same name?
Let me know when you're down and we'll have a chat about what you want to do and where and so on. When are you thinking of recording? I'll try keep some days free for it.
